Guide:

Survival:

If you drop to 0 hp, you will be on your "last stand." You will endure the blow and win the fight, but if you take 1 more damage, you will die. To get out of last stand, get to a healing heart.

Combat is determined through a roll in autobattle.

items:
  • Gold coins grant 1 gold
  • Stacks and sacks of gold grant 2-6 gold
  • Chests of gold grant 4-8 gold, but are rare
  • A diamond is worth 20 gold! only 1 can spawn every level and only if a treasure has not spawned
  • A heart can heal 1 damage
Treasures:

A treasure will give you a permanent buff for the remainder of the run. The first treasure to spawn will always be the magic map.

Enemies:

You can be flanked by multiple enemies, which will add the amount of damage you will sustain on an ambush.

Enemies have traits, item drops, and damage rolls

  1. Short sighted- makes the enemy have difficulty seeing you, will likely not see you unless you're 1-3 spaces away
  2. Farsighted- enemy can see you from large distances (up to 10 steps away)
  3. Forgetful- As soon as the enemy doesn't see you, it quickly stops searching for you.
  4. Good Memory- Takes a while for the enemy to give up looking for you
  5. Advantage- The advantaged party will have a reroll and automatically pick the ideal roll.

This is an incredible game for a 10 day game jam. With so many different enemies and items it didn't feel like a 10 day game. Nice choice with the music and art, too.

Thank you for the compliment! Believe it or not, my original scope was actually much much bigger! But I dropped quite a bit when I realized how unrealistic it was.

I believe it I had to put all my ideas on separate boards and keep the main game loop on mine so I didn't get distracted by all the shiny things.

This was such an engrossing game. I managed to make it to 95 coins before I was eaten by a snake - I was so close!

I wasn't expecting such simple mechanics to work out in such an exciting way. I really liked the adrenaline system which allowed me to keep going right to the last moment. It genuinely got me excited to continue.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for playing my game, and again, thanks for the asset!
